July Tip of the Month
Could your business benefit from multiple websites?
The short answer is yes ... provided you have developed a strong brand with you primary domain.

If you currently have a general website that works well, has garnered consumer trust and is referenced as a resource for information, you are ready to create a series of micro-sites that develop niche topics and or keywords that are related to your particular product or service.

The development of these additional sites allows you to cross link from one site to another and leverage existing materials without a large outlay of time and capital.

Multiple sites also allow your to cater your product or service offerings to different market segments. The message that you use on each site can be directed specifically at a particular audience, and for that matter a specific search engine algorithm.

For example, a printing company may have a general site which acts as a hub for all its products and services. Within its web structure, it may have subsidiary sites that relate to specialty services such as packaging, variable data printing, green printing, large format printing, and mass production. Since each of these service areas offers a unique product to a specific customer base, the printing company would be able to craft the message and graphic design of each site to the corresponding target market.

Of course, the printing company would be able to leverage some existing text to each site since general practices and standards would be applicable to the main site as well as the sub-sites.

The specialization of each sub-site, allows the developer to use keywords that build the authority of all sites. This will enhance the overall SEO rankings as keywords are used in the linked sites.

Administering multiple website also allows for more accurate visitor tracking. While the number of visitors may decrease on the main website, the niche site numbers will more closely reflect actual visitor interest. This allows companies to review, test, and maximize their product and service offerings and messages.

sful ad campaign into a successful one. This has been tested again and again. When you read a publication, your eyes are drawn to the right hand page as you flick through so statistically, more people will see your ad if it's on the right hand page.

In major national magazines and newspapers, you will see that most of the large advertisers are on the right hand pages.

When you book your ad space, tell them you want it on a right hand page. Very few people in your position ask for this, so the publication will normally oblige. If they tell you they can't guarantee it – tell them you'll advertise in a future edition when they can guarantee it.

Save resources, increase ROI with green marketing:

Increase direct mail effectiveness with digital printing
It’s a new era in direct marketing. As consumers have become more desensitized to "junk mail," the "one-size-fits-all" approach has lost its effectiveness.

Today's technology allows a company to personalize their mailings for each customer.

This "variable data printing" allows you to customize names, graphics, pricing or entire newsletter articles to match each recipient's profile. Combined with a well-targeted mailing list, this can increase your response rate from the standard 1 – 3% to as much as 20%.

Use ecologically friendly materials
Although recycled paper is not new to the market, today’s recycled paper has a comparable cost and quality to "new" paper. To be considered truly recycled, a paper must contain postconsumer materials. The new generation of recycled papers contains up to 100% postconsumer material.

To have a more positive impact on the environment, try tree-free paper. Over 100 million trees are cut each year to supply fiber for writing and printing paper in the United States alone. There are many tree-free paper products available today including hemp, eucalyptus, rice, wheat, straw and mangos. These alternative materials have a faster renewal rate and produce a quality product that is unique.

In addition, many printers are switching from petroleum-based products to vegetable-based inks, which emit fewer VOCs than traditional inks. Instead of traditional varnish, consider an environmentally friendly aqueous coating. It produces a high-gloss finish while increasing the longevity of your piece.
